Hemoglobin (Hb) is a physiological oxygen‐transport metalloprotein present in the red blood cells. With in‐depth study, many functions of Hb are developed, and kinds Hb‐related biomaterials applied for biomedical therapeutics past decades. Herein, recent advances their applications, including clinical progress Hb‐based oxygen carriers (HBOCs) as substitutes, applications field tumor therapy, wound healing, anti‐inflammation therapy through utilizing its function multiple gas delivery (O 2 , CO, NO), peroxidase‐like catalysis, targeting macrophage, summarized. rapid development science technology, more versatile designed future other applications.
